Great UX analysis. Forms to create an acct password where they make you GUESS min chars or exact strength requirements irk me:
- 6 or 7 characters? Too short.
- Must pwd have upper and lowercase?
- Is a non-letter required? [i.e., not just letters]
- Is a non-letter illegal? [i.e., alphanumeric only]

Fantastic session. This confirmed a number of assumptions I've had developing HTML forms and it also provided insight into a number of areas I hadn't considered. Great, great session. Well worth watching. Thanks.

Good examples of what should be common sense des/dev tips, but unfortunately--and as your many examples demonstrated--are not so commonly used in web forms. Thanks for the presentation.

Thanks Luke. My boss strongly encouraged me to view your session recording since I chose to attend a different session during your time-slot at MIX. I appreciate the concrete, logical, and grounded techniques you discuss. Great presentation.

I am disappointed that I had to install another plugin to watch this video. This video is about usability, yet I have to install a plugin, that is from Microsoft nonetheless.. What gives?

OMG! I was very disappointed that I was not able to watch this video by telnet'ing to port 80. Usability my eye! This is as bad a YouTube, Flickr and the Hampster Dance.
I understand this video was given at a Microsoft conference where Silverlight was a main highlight. I also understand that these videos are made available to non-attendees without fee or registration. Most conferences don't make free videos available to non-attendees, but none of this matters!!!
Web content should be available in whatever form I choose to view it in. For example, in addition to using telnet to browse the web, I sometimes submerge my monitor under water and hook up a strobe light. Poor UX web design results in me having daily seizures.
Please eliminate the need for plug-ins and make this web site and video telnet 80 compatible.
P.S. Please make more free stuff available.

Requiring a rare plugin to watch a video does not a good UX make.

Also, I find it humorous that the speaker is using a Mac yet this page says the recording was made possible by IE8.

i still can't help but feel that there is a conflict between higher converting forms (manipulating behavior actions) and best practices. Am i missing something, because one doesn't assume the other as this speech assumes.
I want higher conversions (period).
thoughts?
