Come hear about what's new in WPF 4, including MultiTouch, new controls, new themes, Windows 7 ribbon and taskbar integration.

Great talk Mark and Kevin. We're really looking forward to integrating the new features like multi-touch into our WPF controls. And a big thumbs up on the text clarity and pixel snapping improvements. A lot of devs have passed on WPF-based products simply because of those issues. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the feedback Bill!
I need to correct one answer that I gave in the Q&A session. I'm glad to report that the current plan is that Entity Framework will be supported by the Data Sources window in Visual Studio 2010 - sorry for the mistake there.
I'd love to hear whether folks think that we've hit the right areas for your development needs in Visual Studio 2010, and also any areas you would love to see future investment in. Send me mail, post here, or tweet #VSDesignerSLWPF .
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi, What laptop/table/desktop PC do you recommend right now to start developing in Win 7 with multitouch??
I have seen the TX2 from HP, but I have my doubts. HP haven't been very reliable in the past at least for me.
Very nice talk btw.
Thanks.

10 minutes in, the video stops and displays "Media Failure. Try reloading the page or visiting the main site for assistance."
Thanks for wasting my time!

Christopher,
See announcement here for details of the 2 day training tour:

Richard: I am sorry that you had this media failure in the main video playback. If you can't get this to work for you by clicking to the 10 minute point on the video and continuing, please try downloading one of the other available formats from the links at the top right of the screen (All/WMV/WMV High/MP4/WMA/MP3 formats are available).

Will we see improvements to the spellchecker in WPF4? Specifically I'm wondering about the ability to add custom dictionaries.

Brian, you will be happy to know that the speller in WPF4 has been augmented to accept custom dictionaries. If you would like to get more info about this feature (API, code sample, etc...), periodically check the WPF Text Blog at http://blogs.msdn.com/text/. I will be making a more detailed post on this blog about custom dictionary support.

An excellent video with which you can have a global understanding of the new features of WPF. It would be helpful to have the source code of the applications we saw.
