So XP home and pro OR Vista and Windows 7 beta users need more updates about Silverlight 3. Everyone has SilverLight 2 installed own P.C s now. Silverligt 3 Tools are not installed with daily updates.Do MS send us SilverLight 3 by the help of automatic daily updates or we personaly install SilverLigth 3 to our PC s? And second idea does this version 3 come with IE8 or not.
Thanks.

I've just installed SilverLight 1 and I'm looking for a demo or really something that will demonstrate how I'll be able to use it. I'm a Mac owner. Also, I see an ad for Stuffit, which I've had for several years and never have seen anything that will discuss just what & how I can use this platform! (Obviously, I'm a user, not really a geek with a computer. Among other problems, I'm loosing the feeling/sensation in my finger tips [neuropathy & 76 y.o.). Can you send me some info on both platforms? I'll certainly appreciate your attention to my problems.
Sincerely,
Bill Connor

Too many technologies being published all over and many, many choices to keep up with the ever changing technologies at Microsoft. I think there are too many smart people at Microsoft trying to outdo each other. Why not bundle and produce a simple integrated solution for a unified Windows and Web development tool? I said tool not tools. Just keep the internals covered up and just drive like a car. I don't need to be a mechanic. I love the KISS principle. I was a geek, became a manager, business owner and grew up after 20 years in the business and finally understood what it means to have a life. I still love programming and do the technical development but I see the crazy multiplication of options that Microsoft is creating for the client.
Just give me a simple integrated windows and web platform. I want to have fun and provide solutions! If I have the time to dig more deeply into the technology then will do that, but my client wants results NOW!
I just got a big project and the client's IT department is pushing for Flex 3 to keep it simple. I guess they don't have enough IT people to keep up with the plethora of options presented by Microsoft. And I am in the middle of it!

Silverlight's obvious try to compete with Flash Platform is a bit pathetic, don't you think? As a machead it really disturbs to have such a player running on your browser as it provides you with the pop-ups, confirmation messages, player expires (!) etc.
It took me 10 minutes to want to uninstall it, which appears a tough one on a Mac, even so, it's doable. Take a look at the solution: How to uninstall Silverlight.
