  • Who in the WORLD would EVER think The Gu's keynote was "too LONG"?????????????

They're in the wrong field, if you ask me!

Where can I download the WMV of this and Key Note 2?

  • Fantastic video, both waaay too short, could have listened for much longer. Regarding people wanting to download, I think you can get them here: http://videos.visitmix.com/MIX09/Feeds/WMV/RSS

I love Scott, and he has a lot of interesting stuff to cover, but he's not the best speaker.

"Um, and uh, now we'll go ahead and uh, um...."

  • This great stuff, it's great to see MS embracing design.

  • Great stuff..but the touch technology seems to be a big failure.

Good stuff...the new Stones experience was top-shelf!

On another note what's up with the MIX logo & set design? 1982 called...it wants its rectilinear, polka-dots, teal, and pink back.

Not exactly a good User Experience there!

  • 'fraid the streaming is not usable for me in the UK.... the video keeps pausing.

Nothing new. Great designers have nothing to do with depression. Buxton just want to entertain the audience.

    And microsoft now in Design.
They'll be always behind. The company is buying good products, or sometimes just stealing them.
There are no great examples of microsoft design.
They can talk, but i don't see anything greater then other leading companies (adobe, apple)

  • People really do love to bitch. God I love humans. Personally I hate anyone who is passionate about anything that doesn't have to do with space exploration and reaching the pinnacle of human potential (i.e. super powers) Design, as a whole, is a very shallow topic, Humans haven't earned the right to delve into such trivialities. I'm into Graphic design, motion graphics, web design, classical art and I shudder every time I see some website talking about how the guy lovesssss design, it's his life, bla bla etc, yeah right, so why does your site look like crap to me.. just a little venting, this keynote was great.

  • Love it so far, but the video in Silverlight does leave a lot to be desired. Flash video is amazing, so lets hope MS sort this out in Silverlight 3!

I can't believe how bad Bill Buxton's website is after reading his biography!!!

  • I found this player difficult to use, because the slider doesn't align to the playback position. And no way to embed, either?

Great talk — I'm off to learn more about Dreyfuss/Loewy/Dorwin Teague

  • Ah, I found the embed bit.

The Scott Guthrie talk is only a sales pitch showcasing heavy MS application that were already out there long ago.

Buxton`s talk is about making designer evolve. M. Buxton has nothing to sell, its a free teaching on opening your mind!
