My assumption is that either the code base is incapable of supporting these improvements or that MS deems open standard-based web application development as a threat and chooses to leverage its browser market share dominance to slow these efforts down. Please IE team tell us your intentions! I personally believe the world would be saved billions of dollars a year if we weren't being held back by IE.
